Welcome!
First and foremost, thank you for visiting my page! I am a devoted wife to Josiah and a blessed mother to Tinley and Boman. We recently moved to Bradenton after my husband accepted a football coaching position at IMG Academy. Faith and family are very important to me! As a family, we love taking bike rides, going for runs/walks, watching movies, and having an occasional ice cream cone!
In December of 2007, I graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Kinesiology, majoring in Physical Education with a minor in Exercise Science. In 2012, I added a middle school mathematics endorsement and a Water Safety Instructor certification to my credentials. In addition to teaching, I enjoy coaching and volunteering to help enhance my leadership and management skills.
It has been a privilege teaching physical education and sharing my passion for a healthy lifestyle with students of all ages. I believe my position as a teacher goes far beyond the classroom (or gymnasium) in order to provide an incomparable learning experience for all students. I challenged myself to apply for numerous grants resulting in nearly $2500 of new equipment to help enhance the growing PE department. In addition, I love building relationships with members of the community in order to provide students with unique learning opportunities. For example, strength and conditioning coaches from the Indianapolis Colts visited class to lead a fitness camp, a yoga instructor helped students learn how to ease the mind prior to state testing, and a Zumba instructor led students in highly-active exercise sessions. Also, I created an ongoing relationship with local college athletic teams who led mini sports camps for the students. These opportunities on top of typical PE classes allowed the students to gain exposure to a variety of fitness methods in efforts to accommodate the assortment of interests so all students experienced a style of exercise that provided them enjoyment.
Coaching is also a passion of mine. As a coach, I find the experience rewarding because of the ability to develop meaningful relationships with athletes while sharing my knowledge and passion for the sport. Previously, I have coached track at the college level as well as basketball, soccer, and track at the high school level, and jump rope, basketball, and soccer at the elementary and middle school levels.
Please contact me if you have any additional questions regarding my qualifications. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you!
To your health,
